In May 2024, the newly established local networks in two schools in our region (Thessaly, Greece) hosted an inspiring day of activities. The 2nd action was intertwined with the fairytales of the 1st action.
At the beginning of the action, the local network members provided the participants with printed materials showing costumes of famous fairy tale heroes and traditional outfits from the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Ukraine. Each participant coloured these costumes and let their imagination run wild. With colourful costumes in hand, participants created new short fairy tales. Each story paired a famous fairy tale hero with a boy or girl from the participant’s country of birth. These unique stories, pasted on colourful cardboard, were shared with the whole group, highlighting themes of mutual respect, cooperation and the struggle for peace and rights. The aim was to create stories where characters from different cultural backgrounds worked together towards a common goal, e.g. rescuing a princess, overcoming life’s obstacles, etc. Through this engaging activity we celebrated diversity, cooperation and the importance of a safe and well lived life for all.
